What is the language of communication in the FIFA World Cup?

When I watched the games I wondered how the players communicate with both the referee and the opposing team. For example in the final game with Spain and the Netherlands. I would guess it might be difficult to find a referee who can speak both spanish and dutch, so what language would he speak?

Spanish Festival Runs Through Weekend
Spanish music filled the streets of Campbell Friday at the 47th Annual Santa Rosa de Lima Festival. Plenty of people took in the sights, sounds and homemade Spanish food. There are games for kids and adults, such as Bingo and Black Jack, face painting, and a lot of live entertainment.

I have to present today in uni (class for preparing to teach Spanish), just a few minutes and get the class involved in a game that teaches something simple (like numbers of days of the week or something), but I don’t wanna just use a semi-boring typical one, I want something that stands out and is very engaging, anyone got any ideas?

I’m a highschool student that has to teach 1st grade students spanish for two hours, help!?
